Is KissCartoon offline?
I'm checking this website quite often, specially now that I finally found a good place to check on DC animated series such as Superman TAS, Batman Beyond or JLU.
I've been trying to log in for a couple of days, but the place seems to be offline. It's just me or does it happen to anyone else? Has the site been shutted down? I really hope not.

This appears to be the case for it and many similar sites, I just tried Kiss Anime, Kiss Asian and Read Comic Online. I figured they'd be closed eventually, but I always assumed their ad revenue was used to pay their legal fees.

or anti-piracy people trying to shut down those sites, they deserve it.GammaCast wrote:This appears to be the case for it and many similar sites, I just tried Kiss Anime, Kiss Asian and Read Comic Online. I think give it a while and it might comeback.

I know it's a morally gray issue, but archival of older cartoons like Batman TAS is important in it's own right, especially if access to it is limited or the series itself isn't even broadcasted on television anymore. With current running anime I can agree with your point a lot more (that's current and thus far more pertinent to viewership abroad), but in the case of older cartoons past syndication I think online access to it is still important.TheVampirePrincess wrote:or anti-piracy people trying to shut down those sites, they deserve it.GammaCast wrote:This appears to be the case for it and many similar sites, I just tried Kiss Anime, Kiss Asian and Read Comic Online. I guess, if there is no other option. However, I still prefer sites like Hulu, Netflix, & Crunchyroll since those are legal streaming sites.SnidelyOne wrote:I know it's a morally gray issue, but archival of older cartoons like Batman TAS is important in it's own right, especially if access to it is limited or the series itself isn't even broadcasted on television anymore. I hear they are fixing the problem with all four of those sites, but the future of those sites look grim. I am sad now.
Re: Is KissCartoon offline?
In Their Reddit Section they said that they could be back in a day or a week or month but they aren't totally shut down
Re: Is KissCartoon offline?
You know those websites could be perfectly legal if the companies that own those shows weren't lazy and stroke a deal with them to get a percentage of the ad revenue profits obtained from streaming those shows, right? You wouldn't have to pay a penny either, quite nice if you don't have the luxury of a big monthly income, or a wealthy family to support you, or even if you live in another country and don't have access to certain region-only payment methods.TheVampirePrincess wrote:I guess, if there is no other option. But no, let's just shit all over a database repository hosting thousands of old shows that are really hard to find over 1 or 2 stupid shows, because "muh copyright xd".
If the companies actually cared about making their intellectual properties available to the public (worldwide, and might I add at a reasonable price or preferably in a similar fashion to what I explained above), then it would make sense and benefit everyone. But as it stands, abuse of shoddy outdated copyright laws just ruin and set back digital file hosting and sharing a ton.
You might not think that much about it now, good luck whenever you remember that one movie/cartoon/anime/comic/manga/game that's kinda obscure (MIB Cartoon, Jackie Chan Adventures, even a foreign dub of those shows, etc.) and you can't find it anywhere because a dickwad decided to take down every single place where it could've been. I specially love it when they don't even bother to release those same series anywhere else, shows how much they care about the profits they were losing lol.
Please don't be part of that "it's the law, therefore it's the right thing!" bullshit ideology. Specially when the "law" in this case is outdated clunky shit that severely bogs down the internet's development into a handy tool for humankind. That line of thinking will only fuck us over in the end.

Re: Is KissCartoon offline?
i heard somewhere that when it changed to .io it was malware or something.
@vampireprincess. just because its not legally available on those sites doesnt mean its bad. a lot of people wont pay for memberships to see a few specific series since they offer select shows. i can actually be a positive thing to download shows because it helps get it out to more people overall. heck the game of thrones people encouraged downloading of their series to increase their fanbase. hbo is like hulu, netflix, etc and not always worth the money for a few select shows :p

In Kissanime They are now saying that they will be back in a few days so that is a good sign
