If only we could be so lucky.
But with only 3 episodes left, time's running out on this show and potential for DiD, unless it gets another season. Sadly it seems most of these Monkey Punch created animes (besides Lupin of course) don't last very long, only 12 episodes or so.
That's all that Mankatsu got, for instance. Heck even Fujiko's own show could only get 13 episodes, and she's one of the most popular female anime characters ever.
I was hoping for some hot Okuni DiD too, but at this point it looks like the Koharu scene is probably all we're gonna get, so let's just hope she gets more in the next episode. Hopefully they will add a gag or at least keep her tied up a while.

To be fair that was planned to only have 13 eps.Heck even Fujiko's own show could only get 13 episodes, and she's one of the most popular female anime characters ever.

I disagree with this. She's extremely popular amongst OUR community but I don't believe she's as popular as you think. Outside of Japan the Lupin anime as far as I am aware isn't as popular as say cowboy bebopsomedude37 wrote: Heck even Fujiko's own show could only get 13 episodes, and she's one of the most popular female anime characters ever.

Yeah it's not Bleach or Naruto but it's still a long lasting franchise with a big fan-base. It's stood the test of time with constant updates and re-imaginings and still spawning merch and movies today. Though I think you're right in that it's fan-base is likely wider internationally than in Japan.Outside of Japan the Lupin anime as far as I am aware isn't as popular as say cowboy bebop

Yes, the red jacket Lupin series got an English dub that aired on Adult Swim, but it wasn't very popular. Like the failure of the original Gundam, I think it could be traced to the fact that it's really old and looks it. It doesn't have the nostalgia value in America so it was a mistake to expect audiences here to watch a 30 year old cartoon.ghostz wrote:I'm curious, did any Lupin show got and English dub so far ?

I asked because I wondered what name did they gave Fujiko; because usually they receive other names (Ran from Detective Conan got the name Rachel)

Re: Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman
I would say that Lupin is still pretty popular in Japan, he's just not new anymore so he's not as exciting as he used to be. But his stuff still must draw decent ratings and dvd sales, otherwise they wouldn't keep making a new TV special for him every year or new shows like the Fujiko series. There's no way he could have lasted 40+ years though with all that content if he wasn't popular.
And I do think he's pretty popular internationally too, at least in some countries like Italy he seems to be.
As for Fujiko, there's this info from her wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fujiko_Mine" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"In 2007, Oricon magazine polled readers on which characters they would most like to see in their own series.[3] Fujiko appeared in the seventh position among female voters, and fifth place overall. The magazine company also asked their readers in the very same year who they believed is the most beautiful woman in manga. Fujiko Mine was crowned the title by scoring first place overall with high rankings from both male and female voters.[4] She was voted as the 2nd most iconic anime heroine from Mania.com[5]"
So I would say she is pretty darn popular in Japan. Probably in other countries as well. Here in the U.S. maybe not, but Lupin hasn't had anywhere near the history or amount of exposure here that he's had in other places.
Funimation released a number of the TV specials and a few of the theatrical movies around the same time, and just last year the 1st TV series was finally released here in a complete set by Discotek Media: http://www.amazon.com/Lupin-3rd-Complet ... in+the+3rd" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But there's still a lot of Lupin content that's never made it to our shores.
I know she has a different name in some other countries though. I think in France for instance her name was changed to "Magale." Italy I think re-named her "Margot" in the second series. What's strange though is I think they had a different name for her in the first series. Weird.

Yeah, Adult Swim did run the 2nd Lupin TV series for a while in the early 2000's, using English dubbed eps from Pioneer, who started putting the series out on dvd at the same time. Then after a while Pioneer ran into financial trouble and sold out to Geneon, but they continued putting out the Lupin dvds here up until about 15 volumes. I collected all but one of these (the "From Russia With Love" volume), which for some reason it seems was under-produced so it became extremely rare and is now uber-expensive to buy. There were several major problems with the way they released the series though. They only put 5-6 episodes per volume and these came out waaaay too slow, sometimes taking several months between each. And then of course the fact that they stopped releasing the 2nd series altogether after covering only about half of it, leaving the fans hanging.Yes, the red jacket Lupin series got an English dub that aired on Adult Swim, but it wasn't very popular. No, the English dubs of the series didn't change Fujiko's name at all. She's still Fujiko in those.I asked because I wondered what name did they gave Fujiko; because usually they receive other names (Ran from Detective Conan got the name Rachel)

Re: Bakumatsu Gijinden Roman
Okuni (Fujiko) gets shot in ep 10 but it's a 5 sec scene. Also it seems that the next ep won't deliver much
