Speaking of Ultimate Universe... Should I bring up Ultimatum?
I can agree that this decision is not looking promising but don't pretend Marvel has their hands clean on dumb crap!
I can't pretend that barrel chested Cap didn't happen. But history has a weird way of repeating itself, no?
Never read Ultimatum. By that point they realized how God awful the Ultimate line had gotten and they wanted to revamp it yet again. They needed to just let go of what was already done. That was the whole point of Ultimates.

I agree with that. The moment I saw Ultimate U going down hill was when they turned Ultimate Doom into regular Doom because fans were RAGING over him not being exactly the same as regular Doom. Very irritating.

Aha! That's my point! Now YOU'RE comparing it to Heroes Reborn too!
I noticed that stupid beak too but didn't want to nerd rant about it but fuck, it just needs to be pointed out. It looks so stupid! Who the hell would fear a chick dressed as a bird with a stupid little beak on an eye mask? God I hope it's not used as a weapon.

Well her last costume wasn't particularly terrifying either. http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2 ... nger-1.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Baby blue with a white thong/diaper thing and topped with a fluffy white half cape.
Batman has a big headgear decked out as a...bat. Hawkman dressed as a giant hawk with his head dress including a beak that goes over his nose. But this little tiny beak, on a "robin" mask is just silly. Think about the others designing their outfits. Bruce Wayne sitting there going, "Man this will strike fear in bad guys". Even Spidey, you can imagine a teenager going nuts on an outfit. Now, Hawk and Doves outfits were never, EVER brilliant. And yes, even worse was when Dove was a guy. (I loved the animated JLU episode with them though. Brilliant casting too). But my gripe is, why a little teeny tiny beak? Why? If I were a bad guy I'd just punch that thing into her forehead.

I don't see the outfit as any sillier than your average superhero costume, is Spider-man existed, I have a hard time thinking anyone would be nervous being confronted by a guy dressed like that. 95% of superhero stuff requires suspension of disbelief, we are just so invested in our own favorite characters that we forget how silly they all look.

Spidey is one thing.
An itty bitty beak on your nose is another.

I don't see the difference...familiarity makes a guy in tights with webs under his arms not silly, 95% of superhero costumes look foolish in anytjing but a comics context
