It is a giant conspiracy to get the comic rights to Godzilla for a cash in since Marvel and Dark Horse had their share with IDW being the current holder of comic book rights. I of course have no evidence to back this up and hope fans find enjoyment in this upcoming collection.

Given the way the DC Archive series has dried up, I don't think Time Warner thinks very much of Golden Age reprints anymore beyond sure sellers like Superman and Batman. They probably figure they'd rather take the licensing fee from IDW and let them take all the risk. If the thing sells, maybe that'll open up other reprints that DC has been reluctant to touch.
