Netflix's Daredevil Series

Post by ARNie »

Guess they realize DD might not be able to carry another motion picture...

Netflix has found its Daredevil: Boardwalk Empire alum Charlie Cox has been cast in the starring role of the upcoming Netflix series, sources confirm. Cox will play Marvel crime-fighter Matt Murdock, who’s a blind lawyer with heightened senses and a secret alter ego.

The 13-episode drama Daredevil also has a new showruuner: Steven S. DeKnight, the man behind Starz’s Spartacus, has taken over the post from previously tapped showrunner Drew Goddard (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), who will remain on board as an executive producer. Since Cox made his mark as the doomed Irish love interest and mob thug on the second and third seasons of Boardwalk, the English actor was cast in two CBS drama pilots that didn’t go to series (The Ordained, and an untitled Wall Street drama).

Daredevil marks the latest Marvel series in the pipeline, with ABC’s Captain America spinoff Agent Carter set to debut next year and Agents of SHIELD working on a second season. Marvel and Netflix had no comment.
