I am kind of surprised this one flew under the radar. Maybe because most of us were focused on BATMAN: THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE SEASON TWO #7 (viewtopic.php?f=20&t=9923)? Anyway, in this mini series about Ben Grimm, he and Alicia are on yet another break so Ben winds up meeting a woman of color named Amaryllis Dejure through a dating service involving a fairy (seriously). Amaryllis is immediately kidnapped by a villain named Brusque, who has tied her to a chair at a typical abandoned structure. In this scene, Ben distracts the villain while a kid he's met climbs in via a small opening and frees Amaryllis.

I thought it was a well drawn scene featuring a woman of color, which is still rare to a degree (although not as rare as it used to be). Some gag snobs may complain but for me it was a pleasant surprise; simple yet effective peril.
