It seems that Gloria the princess might get captured, based on the preview images.
In one of the cutscenes, it is shown her posing with her arms behind her, in a "boxtie" arrangement, hinting that she is tied up.

Admittedly, I was hopeful yet still doubtful based on that trailer. However, with the final trailer unveiled, there's another bit that shows Gloria with her hands behind her, hopefully because she's been captured.

In this trailer, we first see Gloria approached by her supposed captors, a bespectacled woman in white and a pompadoured knight, with the former demanding Gloria for the "wind crystal". Then there's a short clip that shows Gloria with her hands behind her while saying "You do not care that your actions might bring about untold calamity". Furthermore, there's a shot of the two villains and one of their lackeys holding a boy hostage (who thankfully isn't tied up) in front of Gloria, which suggests that she will surrender herself to them in exchange for the boy's safety.

Now, comparing this scene with that of the earlier trailer, this could either be a continuation or an update of the scene from the earlier trailer. Let's hope it's the former.

What's more, I believe that this scene could occur fairly early in the game. One reason would be the fact that it's in the trailers to begin with. My other reason is that the Bravely Default series has a tendency to keep its core four main characters together nearly the whole game once they've assembled. Since it looks like Gloria is with some old man in the trailer and not any of the other main characters when she is approached by the two villains, it makes me believe that this scene will take place sometime in the beginning of a story before she and the three other main characters form the team. Then again, it could be one of those situations where it's sometime after the core four team up, they walk into some major city and temporarily go their separate ways because of reasons. In any case, it's all just a theory. A game theory. And whatever happens, I'm still hype to play this game.

To go off on a tangent, I know I've been talking as if I'm in that one meme where there's a guy who has a bunch of notes on the wall and he looks like he's explaining whatever crack theories he has. Would anyone happen to know where that meme comes from and what its "official" name is so I can make a meme out of my entire crack theory?

So, some features that I hope are in this game that were present in past Bravely games are...

1) a theatre mode that lets players re-watch all the cutscenes.
2) make it so that the characters can wear different outfits in cutscenes.

So, if that supposed Gloria scene pays off, not only can we watch it at our own leisure without looking for a YouTube video that doesn't have obnoxious commentary over it, but also have her wear different costumes during said scene.

Speaking of costumes, based on what Gloria's supposed captors are wearing, I have more belief that Gloria's scene will be sometime in the early game. You see, this game series has a job system that include classes like black mage, thief, monk, etc. Players can acquire these jobs by defeating bosses that represent that job. In the case of Gloria's captors, they are of the knight and white mage classes. Now I know this white mage doesn't look like your typical JRPG white mage. But if you played the demo and assigned that job to Olivia (or the other female main character Adelle, for that matter), you'd see that her white mage outfit is the same as the villainess'. Furthermore, the knight is one of the available jobs in the demo. Now, my whole point is that since knight and white mage are common classes in JRPGs and the developers would want to ease players into the job system by giving them jobs that are easy to understand and would help them early on, it stands to reason that Gloria's potential DID scene will be fairly early in the game's story. I can picture the entire scene ending with the other main characters rescuing and reuniting with Gloria, and then they fight and defeat the two villains and win their jobs as prizes. Of course, it's still all just a theory. A game theory.

Sometimes I see a screenshot or short clip where a girl's hands are behind her back and then I have to check the actual scene, just to find out...
... it's simply a girl with her hands behind her, not a bondage scene or anything.

Love this game but I still miss the first Bravely Default. Japanese VA in BD 2 is fantastic imo.
