Gag comparison chart?

Here's a weird idea that might go somewhere: Let's make a chart based on the different types of gag styles. "Aquarionoid I don't get it" Gags come in a variety of shapes and proportions and I'm not talking about the different types of gags themselves (otm, otn, stuffing, ball, leather, tape, etcetera, why the hell does Firefox not acknowledge etcetera in spell check?), but on their various looks. Take tape gags for instance: they come in various sizes (like barely covering the lips to surrounding everything below the nose), proportions (standard horizontal, x cross, going around the head, and multiple layers), and lengths (lip length, eye length, cheek length, bang length and ear length). I doubt anyone would be on board with this idea, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

That sounds nice, also the case with OTMs/OTNs, some expose the chin while others dangle & others just cover the lower part of the face. Also cleaves gags, they're either between the teeth or not, but are also twisted or knotted,.

cause its technically a correct variation of the spelling.

As for your idea Why would we make the chart, whats the point exactly and if someone did you need to be WAY more specific on what your aiming for. I personally dont get it though cause im not a gag snob. a tape gag is a tape gag regardless of size, shape, or style

Maybe this sounds dumb to you, but to me or any of the gag snobs here, I think this is a great idea. I personally like OTM gags that expose the chin than those that don't. Just because you think it's stupid doesn't mean everyone else does, so please stop being rude & be more considerate of other people .

The problem being that the idea is too inclusive. If you have gags that can be different on that list, because they're applied at an angle 10 degrees different than another, then there's no point in having a list at all. Also, where are you going to get the art for it and who's going to do the work? The idea itself may not be a bad one, but the lack of planning and overreach is consistent with a lot of the discussions on the board lately.

Also there is nothing rude about pointing out the flaws in the idea.

I know of many people who prefer different types of layering and amount of tape. Preference is a pretty common thing in DiD in general. I prefer scenes to have bound hands, feet and a gag above most others for example. I've seen things like this before though really displaying the differences in OTN, OTM, etc.

As for rudeness, it's correct there is nothing wrong in pointing out the flaw. But there's also better ways of wording things. Something Truthseeker seems to have a problem with whenever the subject of "gags" is brought up...

No problem with me, no harm no foul. I just came up with an extension to the idea: How about man and woman versions of the charts, that way GiD and DiD folks both get something out of it. Maybe.
