Not a bad start. Hope there's more to come this month.
Re: May 2014: Disney Princesses
yeah, lots of potential here, especially with lesser-done princesses
Re: May 2014: Disney Princesses
Thanks guys. Hope to do some more soon.
Re: May 2014: Disney Princesses
My two latest contributions for this month's themes. Here we have Pixar's only Disney Princess, Princess Atta from A Bug's life with my OC Annette Hills. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13388268/ girls from Pixar films do count as Disney Princesses right?
And those who know me to be a furry man Maid Marian from Robin Hood. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13388298/

wow, it's the 16th and Yami's still the only one carrying the thread? I thought for sure people would dogpile on the chance to do the Disney ladies.. shame. wonder if it's just a lack of ideas or something.
at any rate, kudos to you Yami, for keeping it going.

It sounds insane considering this won the popularity poll. I wonder what's up?Miho wrote:wow, it's the 16th and Yami's still the only one carrying the thread? I thought for sure people would dogpile on the chance to do the Disney ladies.. shame. wonder if it's just a lack of ideas or something.

seconded. it's not like Disney damsels are rare on say.. DA either. maybe just lack of ideas or something, that'd be my guess anyway. maybe the theme month suggestion threads should come with idea suggestions?
Re: May 2014: Disney Princesses
Don't worry guys I'm sure there will be other artists. Some just takes a little time, you can't rush perfections.

Re: May 2014: Disney Princesses
Awwwwwwww... I am doing my finals and my life depend on it so I will not be able to join in on this theme but I *love* drawing Disney characters, especially the ones below!!! At least I did a quick sketch which took about an hour and is all smudgy. Had it been June instead of May, I would have done a thorough job, probably in full color. But I guess this will have to do. Maybe I redraw the scene at a later time with some more work put to it.
If you have never drawn Disney characters you might not know that each rely on a very different style. Especially the faces and eyes are totally different from one another. Ariel's face is drawn with two separate circles causing her to have puffy cheeks, a pouting forehead and a distinct nose. Her eyelashes are usually drawn into the same direction unlike other Disney characters which eyelashes go from the nose out. I usually draw her with her 'above land' look, meaning she wear a blue skirt with a black corset, a blue ribbon and her red hair is not as 'wild and wavy' as she is drawn under water. Belle is based on French comics and her eyes are primarily drawn with two lines. She is also much more humanoid, making her much taller than other characters of the time. When Aladdin was developed the artists took inspiration from Arabic letters, so most of them are drawn with bold wavy lines. Jasmine have very catlike eyes shaped like almonds and her cheekbones are the furthest you can go from Ariel. She is also probably the slimmest Disney princess.
