Dark Horse Loses Star Wars in 2015

Surprising few, Lucasfilm announced today that, beginning in 2015, Marvel Entertainment will be granted exclusive rights to Star Wars comics and graphic novels, the first time in more than 20 years that the license has moved away from Dark Horse Comics.

Not surprising. Disney wants to consolidate its media licenses under its own media outlets. And the comic book rights did initially belong to Marvel a long time ago, in a galaxy . . .

Ahem.

Hopefully they're going to actually print some Star Wars comics, rather than let them rot like Disney's doing with the US publishing rights to Mickey, Donald and Goofy.

Not to mention MANY other Disney properties that could continue in comic form. I could begin a list but never finish. Give a Hint Taco Bell "barrowed" an idea from one show currently and I tempted to go in and order by its true name.

A mix of thise characters actually. Had the ish but an eager collector bought it from me. There were others but the sad part that I see all of what has been written will probably be tossed.

None of the Star Wars characters could really go toe to toe with your average comic book superhero/villains (Marvel or DC). Spider-man could beat Vader; Thanos would squash him in 2 seconds.
