Maybe if you post the times that they show up that'd be better. I have no interest in femi-nazi drivel.

I may have said this in the first thread, but it's worth saying here.
This is what $158,922 of our money went to.

“If I’m a VG protagonist, and the antagonist comes and kidnaps my wife to get to me, he’s treating my wife as though she’s my property….Nonetheless, if my wife is my property, that makes her a slave, and me a slave owner. Thus by implication, she is turned into an object, I am turned into a monster, and both of us are hurt.”

Good prose and taking debate classes are tools of the patriarchy, bro. I can assert opinion as fact, as well.DXKramer wrote:I may have said this in the first thread, but it's worth saying here.

Where's my $160,000? Sad part is, this is material that needs to be discussed if video games are to be furthered as an art form. Anita's divisive troll baiting and out right dishonesty is retarding the medium every bit as badly as the dude bros that buy up your Madden and CoD.
It's establishing a polarized consumer base, pitting the base against itself. On one hand you have overly masculine fist pumpers that refuse to play anything not soaked in blood and gore while on the otherside you have an emasculated and spineless mass of suckers that will buy into anything and support absolutely anything so long it makes them look PC and can use it to establish their own "Holier-than-thou" mental apologetics.
And gamers got super butthurt when Ebert said games will never be art? Truth hurts, dorks.
All I'm sayin' is: Give war a chance.

Nice try, but your arrow is coming short from the target. And gamers got super butthurt when Ebert said games will never be art? Truth hurts, dorks.
He took those words back in 2010

Ok, and that's some how significant? Video games still have the artistic development akin to an 80's direct-to-video horror flick. The truth might hurt, but it can't actually do harm. It can only set you free and allow one to fix things.angry123 wrote:Nice try, but your arrow is coming short from the target. And gamers got super butthurt when Ebert said games will never be art? My point is that the person (with credentials and a lot of clout after years of work) you were talking about agreeing with your opinion not only took back what he said, and even gave some recognition to some particular titles.
So all you have left is your opinion in that they aren't. So if everyone is supposed to bend over because Roger Ebert says so, then you should change your own tune now that you've been told otherwise by the man himself, right?
Well, at the end of the day, I really don't care if you don't think so or not, but you should make sure your arrow flies straight before you call it a bulleye's eye.

Over a year ago she raised a Kickstarter where she wanted a mere $6000 to fund these videos. While I congratulate her on raising almost 30 times that, the production values of her videos do not scream "I raised over $150,000."
Any idiot with a green-screen, a camera, and some editing software could have made the same quality videos she did for her "Tropes vs Women" series. Plus it took her almost TEN MONTHS to finally release the first part of the series and another two to release the second. What the hell was she doing during that time?
Also, while she does give many good points in her second video, she had the tendency to repeat herself many times just to add content to the video (count how many times she says "In <GAME>, your wife is murdered and you must save your daughter."). For me it started to get repetitive and downright boring.
That is why I made the comment. I almost feel like, in a way, all that extra money was pretty much GIVEN to her and she more or less wasted it.

You seen the new Madden of Duty trailer, bro? Voice activated play calls AND auto scope sniping. So tight. Makes me wanna do some sh'ups just thinkin' about it.Anita's divisive troll baiting and out right dishonesty is retarding the medium every bit as badly as the dude bros that buy up your Madden and CoD.

I was so enamored with the details on the hairs of the arms in it! And the dog, too! The fact that he recanted or revised is fairly irrelevant. Furthermore, I don't recall ever suggesting Ebert was ever in a position of regard. You're implying that all on your own. I was bringing up the time at which Ebert made a statement about the artistic failings of the video game medium and gamers got bent out of shape and took it the wrong way, even suggesting he meant things he actually didn't.angry123 wrote:My point is that the person (with credentials and a lot of clout after years of work) you were talking about agreeing with your opinion not only took back what he said, and even gave some recognition to some particular titles.

Completely agreed. The kind of effort she put into a project with the kind of funding she received is abysmal. What astounds me, personally, is the utter lack of objectivity on the part of her funders. She gets a few troll comments and, suddenly, she's brave for carrying on?DXKramer wrote:This is what I meant by my very brief statement.AH-64D Longbow wrote:Good prose and taking debate classes are tools of the patriarchy, bro. After almost 160 grand, carrying on isn't brave, it's the bare minimum. I wish I could get a piece of this action and I'm 100% serious. This is a demographic of chumps and self-loathers that will give you money for a half-assed product and then not even get upset when you drag your heels on delivering said project. That's a good scam.

Yes, when you begin to backpedal, you generally feel as though you've been in the same place twice! Amazing!I'm feeling deja vu.
Note: It's not nice to try and use someone to bolster your own position and then claim that they aren't an expert on the subject when you've been proven wrong on what they said exactly. All you're doing now is just throwing your opinion around without any backing, like a train without wheels or an engine.
I wouldn't believe it either, really.
