I know of various scenes where the damsel is captured but is just locked up can they be consider did for example Penny from inspector gadget got captured in some episode but not tied up

Well even though it's not my cup of tea it actually is a kind of DID, because as the name says she is a damsel in distress so basically every situation where a female character gets locked up, tied up, grabbed, handgagged etc. can be posted here I guess. I think most people are looking for bondage, but a lock up scene should not be a problem in my eyes.

DiD stands for Damsel in Distress.

And unless said damsel -likes- being captured and locked up, then it's distressful for them, and counts.

It's just not the bondage side of DiD.
