7th Carnaby street

Post by ghostz »

This show is very similar to Diabolik, and we all know how many and great scenes were in it. The graphics are pretty much the same.
Here is a link to the description of the series http://www.motionpic.com/animation-anim ... reet/10/6/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (also has a link to the opening)
Also for further help, it's spanish name is "McDean agente secreto".

Any info is appreciated.

Also other shows that are in the same theme, or very hard to find:

Carland Cross (viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1007&p=4771&hilit= ... ross#p4771" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Enigma (http://www.toonarific.com/show.php?show_id=1154" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) that has already 2 confirmed gag scenes

Cartouche, prince des faubourgs (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartouche, ... _faubourgs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XteOfrz9mUk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Man all of these look very promising. I would like to add a show called "Fantomette". It's mentioned at the bottom of the wiki page of Cartouche.

Opening theme. The comic book series offers some good DID action. Dailymotion has some episodes but you have to live in france to watch it.

Fantomette, you mean the books with illustrations, or the comic books I never saw(only discovered their existence today)?
Concerning the cartoon, well, there were about three DIDs if I recall correclty.
Two are basically the same scene, re-used with "new" dialogues in two different eps : the fatty and the blond girl are tied in the back of a car, about to get murdered, saved by the hero.
In another ep, the blond girl wants to be a superhero, and got captured by two buglars, who tie and gag her.
Enigma may have more, there was a second season, from which I saw only one ep, but it was never re-aired and never sold to other countriescontrarly to first season.

Thanks for the info about Fantomette. I really hope to see these scenes in action in the future. The DID are probably from the illustration books you talk about. I saw them around the net when I was searching for pictures. I just wanted to say that before anyone gets mislead by me.

Here's what I could find for "Cartouche, prince des faubourgs"

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8kd04 ... racle_kids" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.torrentfrancais.com/torrent/ ... 6&result=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://ultimateshare.net/streaming/cart ... rgs-215321" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Carnaby Street returns no results, the Spanish title you gave had no hits at all...

What makes it really frustrating is that they made a whole line of toy dolls for the show meaning that the show was somewhat popular in Italy or they had high hopes for it at least.

Oh never knew that :( .... Well it will surface eventually. The good thing is that the list of these rare series is getting smaller and smaller. Perhaps some italian torrent might have it...any suggestions ?

Your guess is as good as mine. I mean, I just found out about the dolls. I read your earlier post and decided to see what I could find. Except for the dolls, nada. And I tried everything. Everything I could think of. I did keyword searches for both titles, the creator, Marco Pagot, the voice actress for JD, the production company-Rever, Canal+. Nothing. And it's not like the show is that old either. It came out in 1999-2000. There's GOT to be something! Grrrr...

Any update on this one? I think the big problem is that we only have the original name, while it is mandatory to know the translation into different language. If there is one. I think this never aired in russia or in the arabic world. So I guess the only source would be italian or spanish. Maybe there will be a rerun somewhere. We have to find this one, it is a goldmine, I can feel it. :D
