Dubbed vs. original voices

Post by DrProton »

I have been meaning to open this topic for some time but never found the time until now.

One of the most interesting aspects of DiD for me is the comparison between the original version of a scene and the dubbed version. I come from a country that dubs in its local language virtually everything foreign, whether animated or live-action, and most of our voice actresses have pretty sexy and pretty voices (with the exception of those who often voice older women) to listen to. There are cases of full treatment where the Italian dubbing renders at its best and makes the voice actress equal, if not exceed, the original performance and cases where the dubbing simply doesn't care. For example, I remember being very disappointed with the Italian version of episode 8 of Uchou Majin Daikengo and the Catwoman scene in Batman: TAS because the Italian voice actresses, although they had very sexy voices, just made weak sounds that did not come even close to the original.

I would especially like to hear the opinion of users from those countries, like mine, who dub everything (Italy, France, Spain and Latin American countries, Germany, etc. etc.).
