I never thought I'd have anything to contribute to this discussion, but recently I spotted an example in anime. The Fairy Tail movie called Phoenix Priestess has a 10-min. OVA prequel called The First Morning. In the prequel the main character works as a fortune teller, complete with crystal ball -and veil.
