Okay, well here is a nice little surprise that I doubt anyone has seen before. I bought this book from the U.K. several years ago and meant to share it way before now, but due to IRL crap and whatever getting in the way it just slipped my mind 'til now. Luckily, ghostz's SuperTed thread (viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1985" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) jogged my memory about it and so I made some scans of this nice little treasure today for your viewing pleasure.
As you can see, the plot of this book follows the cartoon version of the "SuperTed and Nuts in Space" story very closely. That means we get the same scene of the sexy blonde astronaut lady bound and gagged by Texas Pete! There's just a few minor differences here, with one being that her gag is drawn as a bandit-style OTN, and unfortunately we don't get to see her gagging by Texas Pete in the book like we do in the cartoon. Big disappointment there, I know. The gal's body is not drawn as shapely as in the cartoon either, and the rope positioning around her arms in the second shot of her b&g looks kinda stupid. It's a shame that we only get 2 shots of her b&g, and 1 of them is so small, but the second one looks pretty nice I think. All in all though, I think this is still a pretty cute rendition of the cartoon scene. We even get some text description talking about Tex sneaking up and hand-gagging her from behind, which we didn't get to see in the cartoon.
These pages were scanned in at 300 DPI and I doubled that up to 600 DPI for the blow-up detail shots. Figured that would be big enough to see her clearly in both shots.
Hope you enjoy these scans!

Thanks a lot, she looks superhot just like in the cartoon version.

I like her anyway It's great when you can still find something new of a scene that you were sure that had no more surprises

Glad that everyone's enjoying these. I may have some more surprises for you next week too...

I only know about the TV show when I checked Trifecta's site couple years ago.
And it turns out that there is also the comic book version.
Awesome.
Can't wait to see your next surprises.

Well it's actually not a comic book but a small paperback book from a SuperTed series that I think was published only in the U.K. There were actually quite a lot of SuperTed books published over there, and most of the episodes of the cartoon seem to have a book that goes with them. So all the other DiD scenes from this series probably exist in book form as well. Unfortunately this is the only one I have.
As for future surprises, let's just say I'm waiting to get some things in the mail that could produce some very nice results for us. Keep your fingers crossed...

Re: "SuperTed and Nuts in Space" book version :)
Well I just made another nice little SuperTed book find on the web. Check out this cover here for the hardcover version of "SuperTed and the Gun Smugglers": http://www.ioffer.com/i/1989-superted-a ... a-11785959" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here we see the blonde lady from the episode of the same name getting a hand-gag from Texas Pete, which she did not receive in the cartoon version. She only got a tie-up there. Since we have seen some slight variation in these book scenes from their cartoon counterparts, it makes you wonder if there might be more differences. Maybe they even added a gag on her in the interior pages? Highly unlikely but you never know.
There's a few other things that intrigue me about this too. For one, there is actually a soft-cover SuperTed book for this story too. They have different cover art, but I have no idea whether the inside pages are the same as the hard-cover version or different. It could be that one version is a reprint of another, but they could also be different. What really interests me about this is that it leaves open the possibility that there could be yet another version of the "Nuts in Space" story in hard-cover format in addition to the paperback one I have. I don't even know if there is a hardcover version of that one yet, and I've never seen one, but I know there are more of these hard-cover SuperTed books. It wouldn't necessarily be the story listed on the cover though, because the "SuperTed and the Gun Smugglers" hard-cover version says it has another story in the same book. So "Nuts in Space" could be the back-up story in one of these hard-cover books. It's worth looking into at least, so I'll look around on ebay and Amazon and see if I can dig up anything more.
