Missed opportunities

I started to watch again some series that I saw when I was a kid and found some girls that although were the main female heroes is various crime fighter series didn't get any major DID scenes, for me at least the full treatment, except some minor ones. The list is a moderate one, but all the girls present DID potential:

Great list. You've featured most of the best Hanna-Barbera babes here that never got the full treatment in their series. It's a crying shame that none of these ladies got a real gag scene.
A few of them did actually get hand-gags I believe. I know that the blonde from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids (Merilee I think) gets a half-assed, friendly "fingers-over-lips" gag in the first episode. Here's a terrible quality cap of that scene:



Also I've heard that Debbie from Speed Buggy got a small hand-gag in one ep of that series, but I haven't gotten around to checking it myself yet, so I can't confirm it at the moment.

But there might actually be a small chance for something with Maxie and Minnie from Casper and the Angels! Where did you check that series from ghostz, or are you just going by what I reported here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=27&start=165" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Well I know I alerted awhile back that I had checked that series and didn't find anything, but I just recently realized that I was wrong about that! What I checked was NOT the complete series! I checked it from a torrent, and as it turns out, the torrent didn't have all the episodes! From this episode list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casper_and ... isode_list" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) I'm certain that only the first 8 episodes were there, and the last 5 episodes were missing from the torrent. The way this show was structured, each half-hour episode contained 2 separate stories as well, so that means 5 more episodes totaling 10 different stories that could present more chances for Minnie and Maxie to end up in a decent DiD scene! Now, based on what I've seen from this show in the other episodes, the odds of a good DiD scene for them don't seem very high, but you never know! We can't rule it out completely until we can find those last 5 episodes and check them!

These are numbered with each story as a separate episode, so what we need to check are the last 10 from #17 to #26. I will do a quick check on these ones now to see if I find anything. I'll be busy throughout the rest of the day but I'll try to give them a more thorough going-over tonight. If anyone else wants to check these too I'd appreciate another set of eyes in case I miss something!

i checked these 16 eps from this torrent http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/2097 ... ab=summary" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so yeah maybe they have some other scenes. Also the eps from that youtube account are in the right order, so we just have to check from ep 16 till 26

Actually April does get the treatment a few times in the funky Phantlom and once bound and gagged in the liberty belle caper I know this beause I got the dvd

Well I just did a real quick scan on Youtube through those remaining eps, and from what I can see all they get is a couple of very lame scenes, plus one very quick but cute hand-gag on a girl named Zsa Zsa Amour (parody of Zsa Zsa Gabor of course). The first is a cage scene for Minnie & Maxie in ep 21, and then in ep 22 a big villain grabs both of them, but all it leads to is them handcuffing themselves to his wrists so he can't get away. I didn't see anything else of interest but I could have missed something small like a hand-gag or something. I will download the eps and scan through them with VirtualDub later to give a more thorough check, but it appears there are no great scenes in this show, not even a decent tie-up for them. It was as I expected really. These cartoons from that late 70's period almost never had good DiD scenes. In the U.S., there was a tv-regulatory child protection law (forget the exact name) in effect at that time that may have had something to do with this. Suddenly the standards for what was acceptable to show happening to children changed, and kidnappings fell under that umbrella. Kids weren't supposed to be shown in overly harsh or dangerous situations deriod that period, so I'm sure it made the animation writers a lot more sensitive to putting "bondage" scenes in the 'toons of that time. But you would think that in a cartoon like this where the main two female characters were clearly adults and not children, we could have gotten something a little better than these measly scenes.

Well just finished checking the Casper eps till 26, and there are 3 minor scenes involving the girls: they get caught up in some sleeping sacks + some curtains will fall on them; a cage scene for 3 seconds and a hand cuff scene involving a big guy to whom the girl cuff themselves.

Also I rechecked the April scene from the Liberty Bell caper and she gets only a tie-up scene, no gag. Maybe because it's a DVD that you have Chris, they shot an extra frame or something. Do you have any caps of the scene ?

Sorry Chris, but I'm afraid you're wrong there if you're talking about gags for April Stewart. Yes, she was tied up a few times, but never gagged as far as I'm aware. I've seen probably most of the eps of that cartoon and I know ghostz checked the whole series not too long ago and didn't find any gag scenes for her in it. She is bound in "The Liberty Bell Caper," but not gagged, so I'm not sure what you are talking about. It would be pleasant and surprising news to a lot of us if this were true, but unless you can provide some caps as proof of her gagged in the series, I'm afraid you're suffering from a case of "scene-creep" there my friend.

While were on this topic of missed opportunities, did the Richie Rich and Goldie Gold series produce any gag scene; because i'm aware of the tie-ups.
Also which other Hanna-Barbera babes can be still added here ?

I've hardly ever seen any of the Richie Rich cartoons, so I can't say much about that one. For Goldie Gold, I'm almost positive she just gets tie-ups and no full-treatments. Years ago I heard a rumor that she had 1 gag scene, but I seem to recall somehow I debunked it as false either by seeing caps or the vid of the scene in question, and it turned out to be a tie-up only scene. It's been a long time though since I've tried to investigate that show, so it wouldn't be a bad idea for us to 100% check it so it can be crossed off the list.

No problem Chris. "Scene-creep" happens to the best of us and it's happened to me before too. Sometimes we remember a scene we really liked and we fantasize about it so much that we insert gags or other elements we wish had been there that really weren't there. Probably every DiD fan experiences this at least once in their lifetime.

Another girl that had missed oppotunities from a series I like has a kid and admit I still got a soft spot now was Tara Bomdeay from attack of the killer tomatoes but that was porbely because she had the peril of turning back into a tomato by salt (music in the film) still wouldn't mind seeing her bound and gagged

April Stewart I must say is a very close second to me of terms of being my favourite damsel, Daphne alway's number 1 Anyway on the april never being gagged front i might be able to remedy that follow my good friend the link
