BBC to film adaptation of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell..

Post by cresent34 »

Well, it certainly took them long enough:

The BBC is to make a six-part adaptation of Susanna Clarke’s near universally acclaimed fantasy novel Jonathan Strange And Mr Norrell, to air on BBC One next year.

The book is set during the Napoleonic Wars in an England where magic once existed and is about to return. It is being adapted by Peter Harness (Wallander) and directed by Toby Haynes (Being Human, Sherlock, Doctor Who “The Pandorica Opens”, “The Big Bang” and others).
