This was the man who brought me into US comics, when the B&W repritns of Tomb of Dracula appeared in the UK. He was that rare artist, whose work actually looked better in washed out or no colours - see if you can fidn his Nathaniel Dusk stories as an example. He was also the definitive Howard the Duck artist.

RIP, Mr Colan - your rest is well earned.
It's the quiet, unobvious ones that you have to watch.

I'm starting to wonder why we post these death notices on the board. I mean, yeah. I know that it's nice to respect the people who've passed, but it's really a huge downer and a lot of these people aren't really related to the board focus at all.

General Discussion. If it depresses you then don't click on the topic. :P

Sad to see him go. Fond memories of reading Daredevil and honestly appreciating the art as some of the best when I was a wee lad.

Not Gene Colan. For those that don't know this I'm a huge DareDevil fan, or was until the Kevin Smith reboot. I have some of those original comics as well. He was really awesome.

Sad news for us. But Gene Colan had gone through a great deal of pain and suffering the last few years and I'm thankful at least that his suffering is finally over.
Catwoman: Think you can handle me?
Batman: I've got handcuffs.
Catwoman: Ooh.
