SIIIIIIIIGH

Writers have been obsessed with this pairing forever. Every elseworld that comes out some how ropes these two into a relationship. I was waiting for this since the reboot started for them to mesh this into regular continuity. Not only does this feel like a Brother and Sister making out... it completely misses the point of Superman (and Wonder Woman for that matter) having a human relationship.

Now you just have two super powered Demi-Gods floating around in the sky with less and less connection to human kind. I'm honestly hoping this is just a fling considering Wonder Woman is the only title in the New 52 I'm even reading anymore.

EDIT:

In fact. The page that this cover draws from illustrates my point:

Isn't Wonder Woman and Batman once an item in the original DC universe?

Not at all. There were hints of that in the Justice League Animated Series. That honestly would make more sense than this.

rubs temples.

is dc now actively trying to Insult its readers? are they? i have a bad feelings about this. This is the kind of bullshit that they pulled with one more day in spiderman's series.
does this mean that lois is going to die i guess? she ain't his crush no mo.

I think this is born out of DC recurring no idea what to do with Wonder Woman and the novelty of the reboot wearing off.

I'd say, 'nobody tell Linkara' but I'm sure he already knows, and has been asked for comment from about 1,000 people.

i can tell you what to do with wonderwoman. make her a badass and compassionate hero and set her up like that. she does not need to be mooching on superman, because she has no itnerest in superman. YOU DO NOT NEED TO GIVE A HERO A LOVER FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

if they must FORCE a relationship with wonderwoman, why not just make her a lesbian or bisexual and hook up with a new character as a lover?............ actually, though i hate to admit it, that Would make a little sense. she grew up on an island full of nothing but beautiful maidens. i highly doubt that a few hundred immortals would not somehow lose sexual interst at all, and possibly grew sexually close to the same gender. and the greeks were not exactly known for chasity, so it seems even more unlikely that a group with that culture would be sexually dormant. they are sitll human, and humans crave such contact.
of course only if it is done well. it not being the main stay of the culture of course but something that just happens, unusual to outsiders but not to those who live within it. hell, when the amazonians first appeared in comics they obvouisly had a bit of a kink factor going on. so why not?

the guardians aside the point, as they obviously lost the ability to breed long ago.

I thought there was something familiar about that cover! It's even drawn by Jim Lee!

Honestly? I don't think this is a BAD idea, not the best of ideas but certainly not horrible. While I do think a Bruce/Diana pairing would have been cool (mainly from watching JLU), Bats has been getting a lot more attention then other heroes. Seeing these two in the Justice League cartoon, I thought these two could get along fine. This isn't One More Day where they introduced a completely new character to be Peter Parker's new girlfriend; this is a relationship between two established characters that HAS occurred in some form before, Elseworlds or other wise.

I'm not a hardcore comics guy but I still think Lois Lane and Superman are meant for each other, mainly stemming from Superman: TAS, and from some older comics I read, but I do like that these writers are actually doing something interesting with these characters.

Didn't John Byrne do this decades back?

Oh wait they already did that. In her reboot. Seriously. READ her reboot. It's the best Wonder Woman has been in decades. That and World's Finest are the only ones I'm still reading/caring about.
I think this is born out of DC recurring no idea what to do with Wonder Woman and the novelty of the reboot wearing off.
This was likely decided by editorial mandate when the reboot was being decided on. They've tried to shoe-horn this thing forever and finally got their dumb opportunity.

Everyone has. From Alex Ross to Mark Waid to... oh look... Geoff Johns.

Again this will probably just be a fling that'll last for maybe a year. Before the New 52 Crisis event that's likely to come and change the landscape again.

i heard of it, and saw some goods points in it. certainly better than another forced hero vs hero thing. but it takes very little to destroy such a character. making hre mooch of superman is putting her to the breaking point in my mind. at the Very least they better be using this as an excuse to have a new character in dc.......... wets self thinking about a potential amazon demigod, kryptonian hybrid running around.

well at least it isn't dark knight, where she was basically raped by superman....... and inexplicably, and furthering the stupidity, superman does not have massive scars over his body from her rebuttal. peole seem to forget that wonder woman is basically a being made of magic, magic fuels her strength and made her. hell, she may well be capable of killing a kryptonian.
wonderwoman may be a maiden of peace, but she can be one vindictive bitch if you enrage her. just ask the guy who has to walk backwards for now on to see where he is going.

As a rather bizarre example, in an anime movie called Project A-ko, which dates to 1986, we see young miss A-ko's parents at the very end of the movie. Her father looks a lot like Clark Kent and her mother looks a lot like Diana Prince. (Supposedly mama is ironing a Superman costume, but I don't remember that detail myself.)

Yup! I remember that:
http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.co ... 7/ako2.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That to me is more heartening though because its a reference or a homage. It's celebrating the idea in a humorous way.

THIS feels exactly like what it is. An editorially mandated stunt.
