Post by DiD Rulez »

Greetings fellow DiD lovers :D
I have great news, at 3:23am EST on the ABC mourning news it was announced that Ghostbusters 3 has the green light, 3 of the 4 original cast members will be in it but sadly not bill murry :(.
here's a link to one of the pages I've been watching on the ghostbusters insight

For fans also remember the game realeased on PS3 and Xbox 360 is also a sequal and actually has all four Ghostbusters voicing their roles.

Hope this happens, though with one missing ... I guess they could work around it since every story I'm hearing is a "pass on the torch" deal with them.

They wouldn't announce it over the news specially ABC news if it wasn't real, in this movie from what it sounds like there passing the torch to the next generation of ghostbusters

That worked so well for Star Trek Generations.

Suit yourself, if murry doesn't want to be in the movie then it's time to move on without him, he's the one whos been stalling the 3rd movie then the other 3 members decided not to include him. I was happy when he atleast did the voice acting for the game, it's also he's doesn't want to do movies anymore then soo be it.

For AH-64D Longbow, look how well Star Trek Generations did, they had on tv 2 weeks ago star trek captains where they were interviewing each captain from all the star trek shows.

That doesn't make Star Trek Generations GOOD. XD That movie was awful. This is wishful thinking but if one of the new GB's is Kylie Griffin then I am 1000% up for giving this thing a shot.

Well, he's also on record several times saying that he doesn't do trilogies because he feels that they're bad luck. He's very superstitious about that, which is one of the biggest reasons this movie has been delayed/not happened up till now.

Yeah, Generations was terrible. Nothing made sense because of that shoehorned in element of original cast and Next Generation cast. And, if you want to argue that popularity translates to quality (Which it doesn't, but just for the sake of argument) then The Voyage Home was even better.

In all honesty, the lack of Murray might be a blessing in regards to script writing. You just set the movie sometime after an implied disagreement between Venkman and the rest of the Ghostbusters. So, then they realize they need to hire someone else. As time goes by, each of the old Busters drop out, due to other needs and other responsibilities and they have to keep replacing them. Soon, the last remaining Ghostbuster (I'd say Egon) realizes he needs to depend on the newbies to solve some big problem or defeat a strong antagonist and in the end he ends up being little more than a manage while the new kids end up becoming the Ghostsbusters.

At least, that's how I'd write it. Not some stupid plot about needing Kirk to go beat up an old man that precipitates him getting killed in a hilarious manner.

I thought it was the tv show is what we were talking about my bad :p, if what guardian says is true then murry will not be in the 3rd movie and for the next generation of ghostbusters and as to what AH-64D longbow says I'm not much of a star trek fan so again my bad I do like the thearie he made, as far as we know till the movie release it may go down the road to the extereme ghostbusters movie debut like in the cartoon during the late 90s eary 2000s.

Bravo, good sir.

I've read on Wikipedia (WHICH IS NEVAR WRONG!!!111ONEONEONE) that the actual plot is supposed to be SIMILAR to this. It IS supposed to be a passing the torch movie, based on everything I've read about it, but then again, it's hard to tell until the movie is actually released. I would say I hope the new Ghostbusters are likeable, but I assume great care will be taken in selecting the right people for the part.

In other words they should just write Extreme Ghostbusters! Which I whole-heartedly agree. :D

I would love to see a reboot of the Real Ghostbusters, with a younger voice cast doing younger versions of the Ghostbusters. Plus have Frank Welker return as Slimer. Billy West just just made Slimer in EGB back into S1 RGB Slimer, later seasons Slimer could speak English. Also, Annie Potts could make a return as Janine. Read the IDW comics and you'll see references to the cartoon with characters who guest stared in the show.
