The Legend of Korra: When Extremes Meet (SPOILERS)

Post by rider28031 »

When Korra confronts Councilman Tarrlok over the imprisonment of innocent non-benders and her friends, Tarrlok uses blood-bending to beat her. He ties her up and throws her in the back of a van to get rid of her outside Republic City in a cliff-hanger ending. Good shots too! More than makes up for last week and hopefully we see a gag next week ;)

pretty nice scene.
though it is very unlikely he is going to kill korra, or even try to. non of this dispose stuff. remember, it is still a kidshow, if a badass one, but also in universe it is common knowledge that the avatar ressurrects. killing her would only make it that the next avatar will know of his crimes, likely by direct telling from korra's soul itself, and thus get the authorities of every nation after him. so it is likely he is going to imprison her somewhere private, keep her alive but helpless. besides, if he tried to kill her, she would jsut go into the avatar state and crush him like an insect. this he probably also knows.
oh, what kind of fanart are they gonna make of this? also hoping for a gag.

i saw that week coming. it is very common that, after a few episodes, a series will do a rerun or two to keep pace, and build up suspense and make some time ot make more episodes. season 2 is in production friends.

They better give Korra a gag, she was breathing fire at Tarrlok at the end of it. Plus, next episode she'll probably be doing a lot of meditating, so we'll be able to hear her internal thoughts while she's gagged physically. That's what I'm hoping, anyway :)

i am intersted in how he is able ot bloodbend without the full moon. it seems a certain sociopathic old lady got loose seventy years ago, spread her dark art, but does not explain his particular strenght in it. i think katara should have taught korra at least an ability to counter blood bending. then again, she probably did not want that foul technique to enter the avatar's pool of knowledge. either way, it doubt the blood bending would work on korra twice. kind of how it works; the stronger water bender can resist blood bending being used on the prior.

I'm assuming she could just breathe fire and incinerate the gag, making it extremely ineffective.

They're using tapegags in this show, if her lips are held shut she'd better not try breathing fire :)

Update on Episode 9, Nickelodeon just posted a preview and Korra is shown locked in a cell with no bonds on her. Looks like what we saw in episode 8 is all we're going to get. :(

Yeah but it doesn't show much. She might still be bound prior to being put in the cell. It is disheartening but I don't think its worth counting out till it airs. :)

It wouldn't be so annoying if they would just stop teasing us. LOL
I mean... the line was spoken "tie her up!" And then she proceeds to kick their asses. :P Why must she be so badass?
Still from the look of it I don't think Korra's gonna get captured again in the last 3 eps of the season. But who knows last week was a surprise, we might get something with random citizens or Asami. Regardless this episode was amazing and I look forward to the climax.
