First there was GamerGate, then ComicsGate, and now we have an AnimeGate. For those unaware the anime dub actor Vic Mignogna (Edward from FMA, Hikaru from Macross, etc.) has been accused of unwanted touching over the course of 15 some years and two weeks ago Anime News Network published an article on accusations complete with doctored images. Twitter blew up and now it is being covered all over youtube, many videos doing pretty good journalism and investigation into the matter with the claims being either quickly debunked or having nothing to go on. Lots of exposing!

Funimation and Rooster Teeth are receiving a lot of boycotts. Personally I stand with Vic because A) No undoctured physical evidence or third party testimony has been provided B) People lie C) Many of the people siding against Vic are acting like a bunch of angry chimps and D) While I haven't been to the ANN forums a close friend of mine used to until late 2016 and he can confirm the place has devolved into fascistic tenancies so it is unwise to take their views seriously on the matter especially since their editors on twitter are calling those reporting on this situation as Nazis. I've read the comments on ANN's shit articles and its discouraging that innocent until proven guilty has no validity anymore. And people wonder why censorship is becoming more popular.

AnimeGate is Here
5 BILLION YEN. WITH A FUCKING KATANA.
Re: AnimeGate is Here
I'm not seeing the gate here.
Gamergate was a left wing vs right wing issue with the left leaning side being convinced the other side were photo Trump supporting misogynists while the right leaning side was convinced there was a left wing plot to surrender the game industry to the SJW. Both sides were idiots.
But that doesn't seem the case here. This is a #metoo issue more akin to Kevin Spacy than to Zoe Quin or Sarkesian.

Both sides are idiots here as well.
On the one hand you have a bunch of voice actors and their blind believers talking shit about Vic on Twitter and relentlessly harassing anyone who even suggests the notion that we should wait for solid evidence before ruining a man's life over he said she said. Anyone who holds evidence in higher regard over accusations is considered a 'Victim blamer' or a 'rapist defender' or a 'misogynist' despite that not being the case at all. If you don't want Vic's head and balls on a platter over some as of yet baseless accusations then you're evil as far as they're concerned.
On the other hand you have a bunch of assholes abusing this whole situation to cause some drama and get clicks. People like Yellowflash creating videos stretched out to just over ten minutes where they 'expose' dem evil SJW's and constantly push that "OMEGHED GAIS, THIS IS ANERMY GITE!!!!". They talk about evidence over blind trust, but then share a few easily faked Facebook screenshots that don't even prove Monica Rial and the rest are lying and act like the voice actors against Vic are 100% guilty now with no room for doubt.
Personally I'm more than happy to condemn Vic when suitable evidence comes forward but that has yet to happen. Despite this, the whole #IStandWithVic movement can go screw themselves. It's not about defending Innocent Until Proven Guilty anymore, it's about finding excuses to harass and condemn voice actors like Monica Rial on Twitter and owning 'dem libtard SJW'S'. Honestly, I just wish people could be against this stuff without automatically assuming some evil bogeyman group they don't like is behind it.
