So, this has been bugging me recently.
The other week I found out that lolicon(art of underage characters in sexual situations) is illegal where I live. I'm not sure of the specifics, but it seems to be treated the same way as child porn, which is ridiculous because the characters are not real and no-one is getting hurt, unlike in child porn.
When it comes to DID and bondage, I generally like the pretty tame stuff. I have an aversion to nakedness so I prefer to see characters fully clothed. I don't even find much sexual about it, I just... like it. Yet I'm still worried the art and animation scenes I'm looking at could be considered part of Lolicon. From what I've looked up, arrests over Lolicon are made very rarely, and there are plenty of DeviantArt DID artists in the same location as me(assuming they didn't just lie about that) that don't seem to have any trouble. Nevertheless, I'm still concerned.
I'm not sure what the general consensus on the topic is here, but I want to hear what you guys think. Should I be worried at all?
So Lolicon Is Illegal where I live... Do I have anything to worry about with DID?

Where do you live? Because if it's the United States, there actually IS a law on the books, but the courts have absolutely decimated it and it doesn't really apply anymore, though you might be able to get busted for obscenity in certain states (Iowa in particular).
Either way, just plain clothed DiD is fine, you've got nothing to worry about with the law there no matter where you are.

I live in the United Kingdom, and according to Wikipedia, this is what the law says:
"A prohibited cartoon image is one which involves a minor in situations which are pornographic and "grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character".
Prior to this, although not explicitly in the statutes, the law was interpreted to apply to cartoon images, though only where the images are realistic and indistinguishable from photographs. The new law however covered images whether or not they are realistic. "

It might not be seen as "porn" if there's a context, like captured by bad guys or kidnapped for ransom.
If it's a single pic of a girl tied up with no reason, then it might be seen as "bondage porn".

If you haven't yet, I'd stay away from sites like Pixiv & even Imagefap but then, if you're not doing a specific search for it, the "cyber cops" across the Pond shouldn't bother you. As for DID in general, it's so main-stream now that the "thin line" is now just a foot-note.
I agree with Daikinbakuju on his first point. This theme has been around for, literally, thousands of years. The second point is still wide open to individual interpretation.
