This is from the second-main antagonist named Double who's a formless Cthulhu-like who normally takes the form of a nun when not fighting. The Skullgirls storylines branch out into different paths, with Double story she has to capture the seven other characters in the hope of finding a replacement for the current Skullgirl who has not been an ideal host.
This panning shot happens at the end of Double's story, she's decided on a new Skullgirl candidate, but as for the others...anyway, this is more on the lines of tentacle peril.
Ms. Fortune's image might be a bit disturbing but then again she's an immortal whose limbs could be dismembered and re-attached, though in the game it's usually her head that falls off.
