I do relate to the former, however it is usually due to either said show being listed on a DID/GID list with a gag that I enjoy airing on my local TV station, the show tends to be in a genre that is known for producing a lot of DID/GID scenes (for me, action, adventure, mystery, anything with a main antagonist), or if I watch a random show out of boredom & they just so happen to have a DID/GID scene pop up, so I'd watch more of it to see if there is anything else.
