It was the Simpsons episode "Homer's Phobia" when the family when to the store where John Water's character works and they see a parody of Robbie the Robot. Lisa asks about how the dwarf actor fits into that robot outfit, and as Bart and Lisa walk off the robot's chest door opens and we see the dwarf's skeleton inside.
