Ghostbusters Fans Just Shut Up!

As you know Friday the 15 the all female Ghostbusters movie is coming out and all you haters out there about this just SHUT UP! I know that this is not a reboot, but a reimagining of the original movie, but with a female version of their male counterparts. Its like DC's Elseworlds or Marvel's What If, but with the Ghostbusters as women. Heck, Janine and Kylie were the only female Ghostbusters to break the all male team in both Real and Extreme cartoons. The latter should have had a IDW comics reboot, instead of a cameo in the Ghostbusters crossover Get Real. It's like in TMNT: Turtles Forever where we get to see images of various realities of the Turtles, except Next Mutation due to a certain female and bad villains.

its like if Sony rebooted Spider-Man and gave him web-shooters and quips and a bad ending at the end of the sequel, and Disney revived him and made him better to fight the Avengers. I might not see this Ghostbusters film, but with the buzz of Finding Dory and The Secret Life of Pets doing well, this Ghostbusters film might not be good as the original. At lease they tried, and that's what counts.

im with suicide. i've seen the trailers outside of the theater and in the theater and NONE of them look very good honestly. I love going to see movies but i honestly will pass on this one and have no desire to watch it. For the record it has nothing to do with it being a female cast. I love female roles in movies/games or anything but the casting and acting looked poor as well so yeah...

So far everything I've seen about the thing points to a mediocre movie. I don't have any particularly strong feelings for the original ghostbusters so I'm not at all upset by it though.

The 78% is somewhat misleading: average rating is 6.6/10 while the top critics have it at a 53% rating and average of 6.2/10. The consensus seems to be that the cast is fine but the story, editing, and pacing a mess; Kate McKinnon seems to be the highlight which I figured would be the case since people love mad scientists. The question of whether it's going to be 'good' is irrelevant at this stage however; it's whether it can make a profit over the next few weeks with Star Trek Beyond and Jason Bourne ready to steal any thunder it gains.

I think there's some shenanigans going on with that Tomato Meter. I saw a review with a 2.5/5.0 rating marked as "fresh". Seems like some critics are submitting their mixed reviews as "fresh" in order to boost the meter and get a rise out of the haters. It really sucks to be a Ghostbusters fan on the internet right now, because both sides in the culture war debate are just having at it. All of this heat over a fairly mediocre remake.

Seems someone hasn't read about the films horrible history - check out Midnight edge on youtube or mundane matt - and the utterly disgusting antics of Sony pictures and Paul Feig himself on TV, forums and advertising, even attacking the angry vid game nerd (and "nerds/fans" in general) simply because he wouldn't review the movie.

They have actually attacked the fans, mocked them and really kinda tried to lie too at points I believe this also includes women giving proper critique having their opinions deleted to only keep the male comments up - this has been proven by a woman posting comments having hers taken down within hours and then having her boyfriend post the same comment having it kept up.

I will not be giving this film any of my money, only way I will see it is via a second hand copy or waiting for it to appear on TV. I do not endorse the practices they have done in creating this garbage.

Also by instantly saying Ghosbusters fans just shut up! you've played right into their hands doing exactly the same things they're doing! Christ I saw that clip from the Graham Norton show and I wanted to punch Feig and the way the films stars were behaving ... *facepalms* at least Kate Mckinnon seemed to know what they were doing was stupid, you could see her looking really uncomfortable with their antics.

After reading about a majority female squad that was Janine Melnitz, Kylie Griffen, and Melani Ortiz in IDW'S books and was actually funny. Sorry, just no laughs here, saw one preview yestarday and I moaned more than laughed cause it just wasn't funny.

I was willing to give this a shot but as earlier stated with the fan bashing that's been done and fact I just dislike reboots / remakes period and there was talk that a whole different story was originally penned with Ray as a mentor (alla Egon in extreme) was looking forward

As for a good thing, Ecto-Cooler is back and check your Giant Eagles if got em for it. Walmart ain't got shit. Target already clearance off the new crew toys really showed faith to me.

I know it's a bit premature to hate on something you haven't yet seen in it's entirety, but I just finished watching the second trailer of Ghostbusters (2016) for the first time, and after hearing it was better than the first trailer I still have to admit I rolled my eyes quite a few times. Hell, I watched the first trailer with my mom, and even with her being a huge fan of the "hit" film "White Chicks", she even said that trailer looked awful.

And as Karyu said lets not forget all the shitty things the director has said and the strategic censorship conducted by Sony on legitimate critiques fans made of it. I'm in agreement with Karyu honestly; this film does not seem worthy any part of the fandom's faith, and as someone who somehow sat through and survived the second and third Michael Bay Transformers films I am not even for a second considering to sit through something that looks this bad from the TRAILER. A trailer should be trying to show you the BEST scenes; can you imagine how much worse the remainder of what they didn't show you is?

Maybe the movie is fun. Maybe the movie is absolutely trash. Certainly, this movie is not for me, but hey, throw sheckles at it if you want to.

To note, I was talking about females breaking the all male roster since after Ghostbusters 2, during the Kath/Janine Real Ghostbusters Era. I know this 2016 movie is not going to work with Harold Raimis no longer with us, and the original cast playing different people in cameos, this will not be a Ghostbusters movie. It's like lots of people didn't like Batman V Superman or any of the Transformers movies after the first live action one, but people are going to be stupid enough to make Bay happy that his films made lots of money to make more bad movie sequels. Bryan Singer deleted X-Men: The Last Stand from our memories when he came back to the X-Men to do Days Of Future Past. Now if he could have done that to Origins: Wolverine...Wait he did and gave us the true Deadpool than that crap we saw before.
