I know it didn't make sense but bear with me:
ReBoot, television’s first fully computer-generated animation series, is celebrating the recent passing of its 20th anniversary with a new 26-episode upgrade.
Vancouver-based Mainframe Entertainment, a subsidiary of Rainmaker Entertainment, has commenced production on ReBoot: The Guardian Code, “a hybrid live-action/CG-animated series,” with an announcement made today at Banff World Media Festival by Rainmaker president Michael Hefferon and Canadian media broadcaster Corus Entertainment. The series will be distributed outside of Canada by The Weinstein Company/Dimension Television.

Re: A "ReBoot" reboot..
I think the appeal for ReBoot back then is how it's one of the earliest fully computer-graphics TV series and that there was nothing like it at the time.
Nowadays, full computer graphics TV series is the norm, so I don't know what will be so special about ReBoot this time.
