I know some of you on here are "Bronies" so I know you're gonna pay attention to this:

I'm more than likely am going to be shot for asking this but I got to know: What's the big deal about this show?

Some people like it because the writing contains material that makes it bearable to watch for people outside the target audience. And then you have the obnoxious kinds who not only inform you how proud they are to watch the show, but try to "troll" by shoving it down everyone's throat because they know it's not for everybody. It's the same with anything, you have some people who just privately enjoy something, along with the crazy evangelical YOU MUST WATCH MY SHOW kind of fans.
My children called me "Daddy". My wife called me "Milien". Now the world will learn to call me... NOX...

Like I said before, I only brought this up on acct. some of the members on here are 'bronies'. (I won't name names, you know who you are.) As for me, I'm more amused by all the attention it's gotten, even more than some of the other shows on the Hub. The fact that the head writer for the 1st season was involved on PPG and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends has also got something to do with why there's such a big 'peripheral demographic', even more than other cartoons made either recently or long ago. (You know it's big when Lady Gaga, of all people admits to being a fan, but then she's...well, Lady Gaga.)

It's an international hit. Plain and simple. Sometimes something taps a certain quality that it grabs a fandom. I love the show. It's not for everybody but its certainly quality for what its meant to be. People appreciate effort and a lot of effort went into the show to make it appealing even outside the demographic.

*clocks shotgun* What you predicted it! XD

Naw my guess, it's one of those random phenomenons like pokemon or yugioh, after a while people will move on to the next thing. Besides only one thing can explain it all.... 4CHAN enough said.

EDIT: if that doesn't explain it, we got KnowYourMemes.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olLDrvc1qt4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
