'The Wolverine' star Tao Okamoto is reported to have joined the cast of 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' as Mercy Graves.
While her previous superhero movie cast her in a somewhat demure role, it looks like she'll be a bit more in your face in the 2016 Warners/DC movie, as her character is the personal assistant, chauffeur and bodyguard of Lex Luthor, played (whether we like it or not) by Jesse Eisenberg.
This particular titbit about 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' was revealed by ComicBook.com. Tao Okamoto will be the second performer to link the film to 20th Century Fox's Marvel movies, along with the one-time 'Daredevil' Ben Affleck.
'Batman V Superman' will only be the 29 year old former model's third screen credit, her turn as Mariko in 'The Wolverine' having been her big screen debut.
Not unlike Harley Quinn of 'Batman,' Mercy Graves is a character who was introduced in 'Superman: The Animated Series,' and later brought into the comics. A martial arts expert, skilled thief and all around bad girl, she's typically in charge of handling Lex's dirty work.
This will certainly be quite the contrast from Tao's first movie, which saw her mostly cowering behind Hugh Jackman's triceps.

That be pretty cool she be in the film
Re: Batman-Superman Movie: Mercy
But does this worried about having about haviing too many characters
Re: Batman-Superman Movie: Mercy
sounds great!
There are not too many characters...look at how many characters there were in any individual Nolan Batman film and none of those films were bloated. It's not like there are four major villains intro'd or something, most of the names revealed are supporting cast or cameos to set up sequels. I don't see why people seem to think a filmn should have 5 characters in it and no more.

Between casting a Hawaiian actor as Aquaman and a Japanese woman as Mercy, I'm glad to see they're changing things up and diversifying their universe a little.
