...This.
As he gears up for the release of his latest directorial effort Transformers: Age of Extinction, not to mention the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, which has him attached as producer, it seems that Michael Bay could now be turning his attention towards another franchise in the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion.
According to Transformers News Center (via KDramaStars), Bay responded to a question about his future projects by stating that, “I don’t know if you are familiar with Evangelion but that’s one movie that I want to direct”, before smiling when asked if development on an NGE movie might be underway.

Re: Michael Bay Wants To Direct...
this was announced to be made over a decade ago and still nothing, but with movies like godzilla and Pacific rim it is doable now but im not keen on Michael Bay doing it. The show wasn't about just explosions and hot women -_- and I feel it wouldnt be a good representation of what Evangelion was/is
Re: Michael Bay Wants To Direct...
*Nobody* in Hollywood is going to 'get' Evangelion. Bay is as good as anyone, since it's never going to be the Eva that we know.

Hollywood people would "get it", the problem is that they will likely think that mass audiences won't and will want to change it. Either that or they will try to prove how much better their version is (new "Fantastic Four" reboot anyone?).

Now now, this could be a good thing. I know it's apparently a law or something we all have to pick on Bay for his explosion-heavy style, but if he did direct it, we'd probably get more cool Eva battles and less existentialist whatever it was Hideki Anno kept giving us in the original anime.
