Well, it worked for DC in 2011 (at least for a few months), and now it is rumored that Marvel Comics might go with a reboot.
Marvel has been pretty upfront in their statements regarding the New 52 that they wouldn't reboot their own continuity. Instead, they went with the Marvel NOW! banner, which arguably hasn't been all that successful in launching new #1s.
Now at the Diamond Retailer Summit at Las Vegas, it's rumored that for 2015, Marvel will be doing a reboot that looks to spring out of Jonathan Hickman's Avengers.
This September will see Avengers #34 and #35 time jump by 8 months where it's said (via Bleeding Cool):
"Time Runs Out" sees everything Jonathan Hickman has been building towards comes to a close and will affect the entire Marvel company across the board, forcing them to do something the company has never done in its 75 years.
It's stated that the speculation amongst retailers is that it will be a Marvel reboot.

All of this is presently speculation at this point. Still, how does this make you feel?

Won't happen. DC's reboot has been a massive bust and the only thing it achieved was alienating the fans. They saw a brief sales resurgence that first year but right now they're back to square one, where barring massive event crossovers or Batman titles, Marvel still routinely kicks their ass at the sales charts.

not all the fans I still buy all the new52 titles
Marvel probably try another soft reboot like Marvel Now, with all the changes they are making to their characters with the leap forward during the incursion event I can't imagine that status quo will last long, unless Marvel wants to alienate THEIR fans.

Dumbed all my DC, and mean that literally. All nu52 went into recycle bins. F that crap Didioverse.
Hope they don't do this, I'll stick to Invincible and IDW books then.
