Viz Licenses All of Sailor Moon! Uncut and Unedited!

Good news, gentlemen! If you're a Sailor Moon fan, this stuff's for you!

AnimeNewsNetwork is reporting that, during their Anime Central panel today, North American anime distributor Viz Media announced that they've licensed the original Sailor Moon anime franchise.

Their streaming, digital, and home video licenses include all 200 episodes from the five television series, the three feature films, and the assorted tie-in specials - as well as the first North American release of the final television series, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars.

These episodes will be without edits and in in their original uncropped 4:3 aspect ratio, with the original Japanese names, story elements, and relationships - along with the production of an uncut English dub with an all-new voice cast.

I'd say it's about time.

Viz have always been good at this kind of thing. Here's hoping they'd do it justice.

Sounds neat to me. Now if only Viz would do the same with Dynamic Pro licenses, but since DP wants Mao Dante first that isn't going to happen.

It's good news for the people who don't already have all five seasons on DVD. I'm more interested in whether their license will extend to the upcoming reboot series.
