Lionsgate announced today it will produce a live-action film based on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The original television show launched in 1993, and its reboot was made possible by a partnership between Lionsgate and the franchise’s original creator, Saban Brands.
The Power Rangers are morphing back to relevance: today, May 7, Lionsgate announced a new partnership with Saban Brands, the original creator of the franchise, to produce a live-action feature film based on the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. For those unfamiliar with the concept, its teen characters had the ability to morph into heroes who wore brightly colored uniforms and Daft-Punk-esque helmets.

I've seen an article about this and frankly they might have a tough time with the critics since the original movie didn't go so well at the box offices.

And people wonder and look at me.funny when say, be better watching SuperbSentai. Make up their first original idea is what I await to see. How original could it be though?

Do people read the articles posted? It says right there it's being produced by a different studio and that it's going to be a modern update of the original MMPR show.Sailornapper wrote:

The first one did do well at the box office. It made 65 million on a budget of 15 million.
