THR reports that Reg E. Cathey is playing Dr. Storm, the scientist father of Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan) and Sue Storm (Kate Mara).
From this casting news we can speculate that Sue Storm is the one who has been adopted.
The race of Johnny Storm has been a heated topic amongst some fans in the Fantastic Four movie as in the Marvel Comics, Johnny Storm is blond-haired and white and also brother to Sue Storm.
The Fantastic Four movie seems to be deviating from the comics in more ways than one as it's become known the characters won't be wearing costumes; won't be superhero celebrities; the movie has been said to be going in a different direction, and actually they won't be referred to as the "Fantastic Four."
