Gilligan's Island: The Mov...ah hell

Post by ARNie »

Josh Gad will be starring in a movie version of that small-screen staple of the '60s (and '80s reruns), Gilligan's Island. A Hollywood source says the Book of Mormon actor will fill the boat shoes of Gilligan. Gad will also have a hand in writing the script for Warner Bros.

How does this make you feel?

Some things just shouldn't be remade. Of course, some things shouldn't have been made in the first place.

Caprice Crane, the daughter of Tina (Ginger) Louise, suggested that Jennifer Lawrence or Christina Hendricks play Ginger. She also suggested that The Professor be outed as gay, since he never responded when Ginger tried to seduce him.
Catwoman: Think you can handle me?
Batman: I've got handcuffs.
Catwoman: Ooh.

Reed Richards didn't always catch on either and he has two kids. Yep best example.

Just one word: Ugh

Doesn't that take away from the comedy of it? The joke is that he's oblivious to her advances. If he were gay then it would just be an obvious trait and it lacks the punchline.

Is this going to be set in period or in the present? I don't think a lot of the characters would work in their classic forms set in the present period (they would seem very anachronistic).

Either way it can't be as bad as when they did the Three Stooges movie.
