Lord God, this terrifies me and not in a good way.
“High School Musical” helmer Kenny Ortega is back in biz with the Disney Channel, directing a telepic revolving around the children of notable Mouse House villains.
“Descendants” is set to begin production in the spring for a 2015 bow. Script was written by Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriott (“The Starter Wife”).
Project is in keeping with Disney’s efforts to comb its archives for characters and concepts. “Descendants” plot revolves around the offspring of Disney heroes (King and Queen from “Beauty and the Beast,” Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Mulan, etc.) as well as the trouble-making kids of Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar.
Just depends on the direction they go with. It will likely be very young child oriented like the Princess Sofia series or more to tweens like the Tinkerbell ones. BUT if they were to take it in a more family adventure type quality (ala Ducktales, Kim Possible, Gravity Falls) I think it would be kind of awesome. But it's not likely that's what they'll do. It'll probably be fine for whatever it is.

I would be more happy if they take it as a family adventure type quality, but well, we will see. It can be a good idea with the right screenplay.
