Fox killed Brian Griffin

Post by Yami »

On the latest episode of the Family Guy; I have never thought the Fox network would kill off one of their beloved characters Brian Griffin. He sadly met a sad tragic death on Family Guy and got replaced by another talking dog, this time one with a cool Itailian accent. Still he will replace the charm and charisma of Brian

It's a very, very strange and freak decision (Well, we are talking about Family Guy, so it`s not so strange). There in Spain I have not seen the episode yet, but I imagine it's only a business strategy to be more popular around the media...

I think it`s sad they need to appeal to something inapropiate to the show`s style only to attract attention.

Call me cynical, but this probably won't last very long. I feel like this is one of those "Gotcha!" things where they'll have the Italian dog for a few episodes before they bring back Brian. The move, though I must admit is pretty ballsy on McFarlane's part, is going to provoke a backlash. Besides, the character's already listed to appear in episodes scheduled for next year and the Vinny dog is listed as a "guest", not a regular.

These episodes NEVER work for Family Guy. When they try to get "serious" they are so bland at it. Futurama knew how to do a serious episode right. That "Fry's Brother" episode is still of the best.

Heck! Simpsons didn't kill any of the characters Phil Hartman voice when he got killed, just retired them. They'll do the same thing to Edna Krabappel with the recent death of Marsha Wallace. Seth is trying to boost ratings until next year's crossover with The Simpsons. (Shudder)

So some of you thinks that this will be a GOTCHA moments and they'll somehow bring Brian back from the dead? Well it worked for Lois on that Stewie killed Lois episodes.

I would say I'm surprised this garbage is still on the air, but this IS on the same network as The Simpsons.

yeah, but you need to remember that Lois was never really killed. It was all a simulation stewie was running.

It came back because Cartoon Network got the rights to rerun the show, and it made ratings high enough for FOX to notice their blunder and bring the show back.
