I just watched this today. Great animation, and this isn't my favorite Anime style even.
What really got me was that in the limited time they established the characters very well without making it too obvious that they had to do that.
It seems like a combination of so many Anime that I like...Slayers, Familiar of Zero, Rental Magica, Modern Magic Made Simple, Kanon, etc.
